Are teenagers nowadays more, or less happy than their parents at the same age?
I think, that way more teenagers struggle with mental health problems. This has always been a huge problem everywhere, but I believe the society we live in today has affected our mental health even more. The main reason for it is social media. The way people are portrayed there is almost not possible in real life. We are brought up in a society, which puts an extreme amount of pressure on looking good all of the time. Younger and younger people start caring too much about how they may present to the outside world. The beauty standards have gone through the roof, constantly becoming more unachievable. Even though some people can think it's not that bad, I, as a teenager, can see, that a lot of those struggling with their mental health are prone to comparing themselves constantly to people they see online. Searching for every single imperfect thing to be insecure about.
